Henry Kneebone died at Beechworth in April 1920.[1]

Henry Kneebone farmed at Beechworth, and was the first to successfully grow tobacco in the district.[2]

Obituary

Mr. Henry Kneebone.
The death occurred at Beechworth on Saturday of Mr H. Kneebone, at the age of 92 years. He was a native of Cornwall, and in 1847 he left for South Africa, and a few years later he came to Victoria, and was in Ballarat at the time of the Eureka riots. He then went to the Three Mile, Beechworth, 62 year ago, and has resided there ever since, with the exception of a short time at St. Kilda. Mr. Kneebone was the first man to successfully grow tobacoo on the Ovens River.[3]
