Background

Ann Adams was living in Ballarat in 1854. On 1 February 1854 she charged William Davis with violently assaulting her on 6 January 1854. He was fined 5 pounds or in default given on e months imprisonment. Ann Adams may be the wife of William Adams. If so, her possible identity is Ann Cosgrove who married William Adams in the Church of England church, Belfast (now Port Fairy) Australia in 1847. [1]
