Background

Forssman was born 04 March 1832 at Christiana [now Oslo], Norway. He was said to have jumped ship in April 1853. He married Ellen Murphy on 29 May 1858 at St Alipius, Ballarat.[1]

Forssman died on 7 November 1919 at Daylesford Hospital, and is buried at Eganstown Catholic Cemetery. At the time of his death he was residing at Korweinguboora.[2]

A drayman and carter,[3] Forssman was in Ballarat at the time of the Eureka battle. Forssman, along with Charles Ferguson, travelled for some days with the Burke and Wills party. [4]

Post 1854 Experiences

Forssman was a carrier until 1872 when he moved to Korweinguburra.[5]
