This Man Saw The Red Coats and Red Shirts Clash
BALLARAT, Friday. — Mr.
John Cooney, 89, who saw the battle of Eureka Stockade, has died at his residence, Eureka street.
Mr. Cooney came to Ballarat as a lad of 17, and watched with breathless interest the struggle be-tween the Government troops and Peter Lalor's men.
For many years he was a well known teacher of national dancing, and in later years his services were in great request as an adjudicator.
