Obituary

Two Dysons
Mr. George Dyson, who died at South Melbourne a few days ago at the age of 86, was a boy in Ballarat when the Eureka stockaders hoisted their flag 70 years ago. He saw the start of that affray, and could talk about it up to the last. Two of his sons — Edward Dyson, the well-known writer, and Will Dyson, the London cartoonist — have made names for themselves in two hemispheres. A remarkable coincidence was that Charles Frederick Dyson, brother of George, and another colonist of over 70 years, died at his South Yarra home on July 16, aged 84. The elder brother survived the younger by eight days.[1]
