Alpheus Boynton

Background
Alpheus S. Boynton was from Canada who sailed from Boston on The Fanny on 23 December 1852, arriving in Melbourne in April 1853. He was a carter between Ballarat and Geelong.
Goldfields Involvement, 1854
Boynton kept a diary describing some of the events surrounding the Eureka Stockade. On 09 October he commented that the situation had become dangerous on the diggings. He saw cannon, firearms and soldiers arrive at Ballarat.[1]
Post 1854 Experiences
Boynton left Melbourne for England in September 1855 on the Kent, and from there returned to Boston, then Hatley.
