The Talavera left Southampton June 1st 1853. It arrived off Sydney 25th August 1853, but due to an outbreak of measles among children onboard, was placed in quarantine until the 6th September. (25 cases of measles on the voyage. Three deaths and one birth occurred.) She departed to return to London on December 1st. [1]
