Emigrated from Van Diemen's Land to Geelong. From there the family travelled to Ballarat, where their daughter Jane Pitt attended school at the Catholic Church St Alipius on the Eureka Diggings on 11 March 1854.

Roger is buried in Melb Gen Cemetery with Ellen Jones, Thomas Jones and Esther Jones.

Background

Jane Pitt was the daughter of Roger and Anne Pitt. Roger's wife was Anne Pitt who was a former convict in Van Diemans Land Tasmania. She received a ticket of leave c1845.[1] Jane Pit attended St Alipius School in Ballarat East on 11 March 1854.

Goldfields Involvement, 1854
