- William Lewis was charged with larceny. Nicholas Edwards, sworn-I recollect the 22nd of last month; I was at Magpie, and felt a man put his hand in my pocket; there were a great many people about me, and they were as close as they could stick; I swear to this man as the one that had his hand in my pocket; he had been pressing up against me. The jury, without hesitation, returned a verdict of guilty.[2]
