Mary and Thomas Davis remained in Melbourne for a time, but may have moved to Ballarat by 1854 where Thomas Davis is thought to have been present at the storming of the Eureka Stockade on 3 December 1854. They had the following children: Thomas Edward Davis b. 1848 Melbourne; Elizabeth Davis b. 1850 Salt Water River; John James Davis b. 1852 Footscray; and Catherine Davis b. 1854 Ballarat (baptised 18 March 1854 at St. Alipius, Ballarat, sponsors John and Catherine McHugh.
