Background
Margaret (Gellatly) and her husband Alexander McKenzie Allen had emigrated from Scotland on the Flora in 1852.

They were in Ballarat at the time of Eureka.

Alexander and margaret had three children:
1. Esther Ann (Ballarat 1855);
2. Georgina Rennie (1858 Ballarat);
3. Mary Bathgate (1861 Ballarat). [1]
There may be another child - Margaret Ann Allen (birth unknown. Died 18 April 1854 at Eureka).[2]
