Background
Margaret (Gellatly) and her husband Alexander McKenzie Allen had emigrated from Scotland on the Flora in 1852.
Goldfields Involvement, 1854
They were in Ballarat at the time of Eureka.
Post 1854 Experiences
The family lived on the east side of Ballarat West where Alexander worked as a tailor.[1]

Alexander and Margaret had six children, three born in Australia:
1. Margaret Ann Allen (birth unknown. Died 18 April 1854 at Eureka).[2]
2. Elizabeth (Born Perth, Scotland. Married Digory Penrose Roberts, and they had 16 children)[3]

4. Esther Ann (Born Ballarat 1855. Married Robert Grant in 1874)[4];
5. Georgina Rennie (Born 1858 Ballarat. Married John Zehan Phillips in 1881)[5];
