:A man who was in the [[Eureka Stockade]], which made history in the early days of Australia, died at [[Woodstock]] on Tuesday. He was Mr William Tucker, who had reached the fine old age of 91 years. Up to the last year or so he was a wonderfully active man and a frequent visitor to Cowra. He was a native of [[Cornwall]] ([[England]]) but came to Australia when only a boy. He had been a resident of [[Woodstock]] for over 40 years. His wife predeceased him. A brother, of deceased is Mr. John Tucker, of Cowra, and there is another brothor at Carcoar. Members of deceased's family are — Frank (Sydney), Holman (Woodstock), Bert (Cowra), Charles (Woodstock), Mrs C. Pratt (Portland), Mrs. M. Place (Bexley), Mrs. D. Stokes (Carcoar), Mrs. G. ECHO OF EUREKA STOCKADE.
A man who was in the Eureka Stockade, which made history in the early days of Australia, died at Woodstock on Tuesday. He was Mr William Tucker, who had reached the fine old age of 91 years. Up to the last year or so he was a wonderfully active man and a frequent visitor to Cowra. He was a native of Cornwall (England) but came to Australia when only a boy. He had been a resident of Woodstock for over 40 years. His wife predeceased him. A brother, of deceased is Mr. John Tucker, of Cowra, and there is another brothor at Carcoar. Members of deceased's family are — Frank (Sydney), Holman (Woodstock), Bert (Cowra), Charles (Woodstock), Mrs C. Pratt (Portland), Mrs. M. Place (Bexley), Mrs. D. Stokes (Carcoar), Mrs. G.
