The deceased was an old colonist, having arrived in Victoria, in 1850, and took part in the [[Eureka Stockade]] riots. For many years he had resided on his land at Bumganie. The funeral of the deceased took place on Saturday afternoon, and was the largest that passed through Meredith for many years, the cortege being fully half a mile long. The remains were buried in the [[Meredith Cemetery]]. The Rev S. Moorhead held a short service at the residence, and also conducted an impressive burial service at the graveside. The pall was supported by Messrs. C. P. Storrer (Geelong), J. Campbell, G. M'Naughton, G. I. Elliott, W. Henderson. W. J. Lassetter. .J. Ward and D M'Kinnon. The coffin bearers were Messrs. J. Sharp. - Another old pioneer, Mr. Wm. Young Taylor, died suddenly in Bamganie on Wednesday evening. The deceased was an old colonist, having arrived in Victoria, in 1850, and took part in the Eureka Stockade riots. For many years he had resided on his land at Bumganie.
