MRS. BRIDGET WHITE
The death took place at her late residence, Lower Tarcutta, late on Thursday night of Mrs Bridget White, relict of the late William Patrick White, who predeceased her by six months. The deceased lady had at-tained the grand old age of 82 years, over 50 years having been spent at Tarcutta, where she was very popular for her kindly and pleasant disposition. Her husband had lived to 86 years of age. He visited most of the early-day gold rushes, and was at the Eureka stockade. Over 30 years ago he was the proprietor of the Squatters' Arms Hotel, Lower Tarcutta. He also owned properties on Borambola, but lost them through mining speculations. In the early days he had many encounters with the blacks. The funeral of the late Mrs. White takes place at Lower Tarcutta Cemetery to day. A family of five sons and two daughters survive her, viz. William, of Yabtree; Thomas and Edward, of Tarcutta; John, organiser of A.W.U.; and Peter, of Corryong (Vic.); Mrs. P. Slattery, of Galore, Lockhart; and and Mrs. B. White, of Tarcutta. There are nineteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren
