William Beament, known as 'old Ballarat Bill,' died in the Cue hospi tal last week. The old fellow was a well-known identity in the Murchison district, and for years -followed the occupation of a dry-blower. A week or so ago he became an inmate of the hospital, where he died from general debility. He was one of the miners who took a prominent part in the Eureka Stockade, and has followed mining in various Australian States. For the past 15 years he had been dry-blowing around Cue, and at the time of his death was 74 years o£ age.[1]
