Background
Thomas Wright was born at Buckminster, Leicestershire, England around 1828-29. He came to Victoria as an assisted immigrant on the vessel Sea which left Plymouth on 18 May 1851 and arrived in Hobson's Bay on 20 August 1851. He was listed as an agricultural labourer aged 22 years. He was able to read and write, was an Episcopalian and possessed a bible.
