Goldfields Involvement, 1854
Bolitho signed a petition supporting the Benden Sherritt Hassell Compensation Claim, delivered by J.B. Humffray on 21 February 1856. Hassell was shot when the 12th Regiment arrived at Ballarat on 28 November 1854. Hassell couldn’t work for over 4 months, and he would never recover perfect use of his leg. Bolitho was a miner at Ballarat in February 1856.
