LINK WITH EUREKA STOCKADE
Mrs. Sarah Wilmott, the oldest resi dent of Pootilla (Vic.), recently reached her century, and is one of the few living persons who can re- member the Eureka Stockade.
As a young woman she was hid den by her husband in a hole in the ground and covered with pressed straw to avoid the flying bullets. Her husband, who, by the way, was a noncombatant, was a first cousin of Sir John Eardley Wilmott, of the earliest Governors of old lady and her husband had a store at Eureka when the historic fight broke out.
