- EUREKA STOCKADE - Thomas Dillon was an early resident of Clarence Town, who was later attracted to the Victorian gold rush. He brought back thrilling stories of the Eureka Stockade at Bendigo (sic), and substantial evidence of the wealth of the diggings, when he invested in a Glen William farm property. His two sons were Thomas and Michael, and his only daughter became Mrs. Stephen Carlton.[2]
