The Red Jacket Vessel

The Red Jacket was designed by Samuel A. Pool of Boston and built at Rockland, Maine. This vessel is named after the great Indian Chief, and her figurehead was a representation of a warrier with feather headdress and beaded buckskin. The Red Jacket had a registered tonnage of 1,597 tons, and a length of 250 feet. Between 1854 and 1860 the Red Jacket was a regular on the Liverpool-Melbourne run completing 10 years.[1]
