Goldfields Acitivity, 1854

In 1917 R. Blackburn was living in Mentone and returned to Ballarat where he was described as a survivor of the Eureka Stockade.[1]

SURVIVORS IN PAGEANT BALLARAT, Tuesday.
Fine weather to day favored the Eureka Stockade pageant. The following survivors of the Stockade were present: — Messrs W. Farley, of Upper Northcote; S. Berry, of Rocky Lead; J. Mitchell, of Ben digo; A. Knight, Wallace and M'Fad-yen, ot Glen Gower; R. Blackburn, of Mentone: Tralnor, of Kensington.<ref>The Herald, 10 April 1917.</erf>
