On the 27th September at his residence Massey, there passed away an old and highly respected resident in the person of Mr P Moore. He was born at Kilfenora County Clare [[Ireland]], and came to Victoria with his parents, brother and sister in 1853 in the ship [[Sir Robert Sale]]. His brother [[Thaddeus Moore]] was mortally wounded in the Ballarat Riot in 1854. His name is now inscribed in the Lalor Monument in Ballarat.

Background
