Nancy Kinnane

Background

Ann (Nancy) Quinane/Kinnane was born in Tipperary, Ireland. She married Matthew Ryan and they lived on the Eureka Lead. Matthew filed for compensation for his tent being burnt down during the Eureka Riots. The tent was inside the Eureka Stockade.

Goldfields Involvement, 1854

Post 1854 Experiences

Nancy (Kinnane) and Matthew Ryan lived at Learmonth where they ran a hotel. Matthew became the Mayor of Learmonth. After his death in 1870 Nancy managed the hotel. She met and married Archibald McAuley. Ann McAuley (Ryan/Kinnane/Quinane) died in 1901 aged 68 years, and is buried in Grave 32 at Dowling Forest Cemetery.
