Michael Callinan

Background
Callinan was born in 1829, Ireland. He was the cousin of John Hanrahan. In 1852 Callinan married Catherine Milligen fat Kilfenora, County Clare, Ireland. They went on to have five children.[1]
Goldfields Involvement, 1854
Callinan was a participant in the Eureka Stockade battle, with wounds including two bullets in his thigh. He fought alongside his brothers, Thomas Callinan, Patrick Callinan and John Callinan. [2]
Post 1854 Experiences
He was later killed at No 2 mineshaft at the Band of Hope Mine after being pulled into the poppet head. This accident occurred on 12 July 1867.[3]
