Obituary

MRS. MARY FAHEY.
Mrs. Mary Fahey, an old and respected resident of Gordon, died on Wednesday evening at the residence of her son, Mr. Patrick Fahey, after a lingering illness (reports the "Gordon Advertiser," 28th ult.). The late Mrs. Fahey, in company with her husband, Mr. Phillip Fahey, came from Grange, near Borrisoleigh,* County Tipperary, Ireland, in the year 1851. In 1853 she and her husband had a store on the Eureka, Ballarat, and saw some stirring times. Subsequently the family removed to Avoca, and later on came out to the Greenhill, Hill, Gordon, where they took up land. Her husband predeceased her several years ago. she leaves two sons— Messrs. Patrick and Michael Fahey, of Gordon. The late Mr. Jeremiah Fahey was a son of the deceased, and the late Mrs. Hugh Bourke, of Wallace, was her daughter. She leaves several grandchildren as well as some great-grandchildren. Deceased had attained the ripe age of S7. Rev. J. J. Cusack officiated at the grave. R.I.P.[1]
