J.W. Emery owned the building that housed the bowling alley attached to the Eureka Hotel.[1]
On 13 October 1854 Emery, Moody, Smith and Nicholls signed a letter congratulating James Bentley on his acquittal. [2]
Emery was a witness examined during the report of the Board appointed to enquire into circumstances connected with the riot at Ballarat, and the burning of James Bentley's Eureka Hotel. [3]
