Background

John Cridge was born in 1833 at West Hatch, Taunton, Somerset, England. [1]

on 23 November 1863 John Cridge married Mary Higgs at St Gregory's Catholic Church, Queanbeyan, New South Wales.[2]

John Cridge died at Numerella aged 84 years on 26 February 1917.[3]

Goldfields Involvement, 1854

John Cridge was a private with the 12th Regiment. He was stationed at Eureka in 1854, and deserted from the Military there in August 1855.[4]

Post 1854 Experiences

Cridge moved to the Cooma/Monaro district of New South Wales.
