Jane Cumming is said to have cooked beard and meat for Peter Lalor on his escape to Geelong. Along with Phoebe Emmerson she helped Peter Lalor to Father Patrick Smyth's presbytery after he was found badly injured after the Eureka Stockade battle. [1]
