BAYONET FOUND AT BELFORD ST I am 77 years of age, and I grew up in Ballarat East where my grandfather, James Walker, used to talk about the fight between the miners and soldiers.

When I was a small boy he showed me the place - near the corner of Belford and George Sts below the hill. A friend of mine living in Belford Street dug up a bayonet and other people have dug up bullets at this place.
