Marshall was miner who signed the Benden Sherritt Hassell Compensation Case Petition in 1855.[2]
Newsworthy
- A SERIOUS CHARGE.-John Marshall, a licensed victualler at the Brown Hill, was charged with having assaulted a married woman, named Bryson, on the 21st Dec last, which assault occasioned the death of her infant child. Detective-officer Sincock deposed to the arrest of the prisoner on the warrant now produced. He applied for a remand until the depositions already taken in the case were received from Melbourne. The prisoner was remanded until Wednesday next. He applied to be admitted to bail. Mr Cogdon declined to accede to the request, and the prisoner was removed.[3]
