Goldfields Involvement, 1854

James Richardson Gaunt was at the Treason Trials.


James Richardson Gaunt on his oath saith:
I was with Eugene Bellairs on the 30th instant - We met prisoner Campbell and asked ?? Melbourne. He made a signal and said he would show us. I saw a p?? we turned down the hill, he ran after us and shouted to the mob, we ?? bullets were fired close after us. By prisoner - you were close enough ?? we asked the way to Melbourne.
