Background

According to a letter written to the Courier on 02 December 1904 Horace was in the Eureka Stockade all night. He had a tent near the site of the Charlie Napier Hotel from 1853 and lived next to James Scobie. He claimed to have a pistol, and a glass from Eureka. [1]
