Background
Goldfields Involvement, 1854
Syms was a private in the 12th Regiment (Reg. No. 3006), who was stationed at Ballarat during the third muster and probably at the Eureka Stockade battle. According to the Regimental Pay List he was in hospital for eight days.[1]
