Background
Cuttance was born in Cornwall.
Goldfields Involvement, 1854
Cuttance was a member of the Ballarat Reform League. He wore the red ribbon a symbol of the League. His ribbon is kept at the Gold Museum, Ballarat. Cuttance protested against the gold licence fee and is thought to have trained a group of diggers at the stockade.
