Background

Gordon Evans was an Inspector of Police. He married Lucy Ann Govett in May 1855.

In 1885 Gordon Evans died in South Melbourne of stroke.

Goldfields Involvement, 1854

Evans was a witness examined during the report of the Board appointed to enquire into circumstances connected with the riot at Ballarat, and the burning of James Bentley's Eureka Hotel. [1]

Post 1854 Experiences

In 1855 Evans was transferred to Carlsruhe.
