EUREKA STOCKADE -

The Minister for Information (Mr. Calwell) is considering a suggestion for the establishment of Eureka Sunday to mark the 90th anniversary of the Eureka stockade on December 3 next.

Replying to Mr. Haylen (Parkes) in the House of Representatives yesterday, Mr. Calwell said he would consider conferring with the Victorian Government with a view to having a Eureka oration delivered on Eureka Sunday by a prominent Australian as a yearly dedication to the martyrs of Eureka. [1]
