Eureka 114, 1968
- After a four year lapse the Eureka Progress Association revived the commemoration of the Eureka Stockade at the stockade site in 1968. [1]
- Over 500 people attended the 114th commemoration on Sunday 01 December 1968. The commemoration was held on the island in the centre of the artificial lake at the Eureka Stockade Memorial Park, and the children swam and played in the water while the adults were listening to guest speakers. Earlier a remembrance gathering was held at the Eureka Monument organised by the James Connelly Association, and Irish-Australian body which stood for the full independence of Ireland. [2]
