This book is held at the Ballarat Cemeteries, and is the earliest available information about burials in Ballarat. It is handwritten presumably by the first Sexton, James Ethersay. The photographs were taken around 2002 and some are not the best quality, but they have survived and are a record so have been preserved here. The index is alphabetical and describes the burials in the pages following.
There are a few early burials such as 1847, 1848, 1851, and these are prior to the official start of the Cemetery in 1856.[1]
There is some annotating and referencing in the register such as some pencilled "known grave" or red biro or ink. It is not known who wrote or annotated this register.[2]
These photographs have been added to the wiki because they contain some names of people associated with Eureka.
Clare Gervasoni and Dr Dorothy Wickham of Ballarat Heritage Services have sourced or taken many photographs relevant to Eureka,
and allow their use on the Eurekapedia Wiki.

Burial and Death Information
Beginning at the first entry in date order throughout the book. As the register was large, the opposite page was filmed separately. Numbers of entries at times overlap to make sure that all information was filmed. Sorry for any repetition but it was felt that the information was important and should not be lost.
