This book is held at the Ballarat Cemeteries, and is the earliest available information about burials in Ballarat. It is handwritten presumably by the first Sexton, James Ethersay. The photographs were taken around 2002 and some are not the best quality, but they have survived and are a record so have been preserved here. The index is alphabetical and describes the burials in the pages following. The burials are entered in alphabetical order throughout. They begin in 1847, prior to the official start of the Cemetery in 1856.[1]
There is some annotating and referencing in the register such as some pencilled "known grave" or red biro or ink. It is not known who wrote or annotated this register.[2]
These photographs have been added to the wiki because they contain some names of people associated with Eureka.
