The list of vessels in South Australia show a vessel called the Eliza Jane, barque 564 ton, voyaging to Hong Kong, Shanghai on 14 April 1855. However, to fit with the time frame of Molyneaux's story of being in Australia before the gold rushes and being in the mounted police, there is another vessel he could have sailed on. This is the Elizabeth Jane a 43 ton schooner, built in 1846.
