Background

Goldfields Involvement, 1854

Ewinds was tried, along with John Chapman, Duncan McIntyre, William Bryant and George Goddard. All pleaded not guilty to the charge of sedition and riot. Goddard was defended by Mr Cope and Mr Prendergast. [1]
