Background

Alexander Bartholomew was born on 22 May 1813 at Falkirk, Stirling, Scotland. He married Jean Shanks at they had six children. The family traveled to Australia on the fever ship Ticonderoga with two daughters dying during the journey. Bartholomew died on 22 January 1895 and was buried in the Ballaarat Old Cemetery.[1]

Goldfields Involvement, 1854

Bartholomew was a juror at the Eureka State Treason Trial of Raffaello Carboni on 21 March 1855.[2]

Post 1854 Experiences

Alexander Bartholomew moved to Ballarat where he lived in Drummond Street, and worked as a carpenter. [3]
