Adolphus Lessman

Background

Adolphus Lessman was born in 1828 at Hanover, Germany. Lessman came to Australia after the Schleswig-Holstein War of 1848. He died in March 1869 at Talbot, aged 41.

Goldfields Involvement, 1854

He was a Leiutenant of rifleman during the Eureka Stockade battle who was slightly wounded. On Saturday 2 December 1854 Peter Lalor sent Lessman out for stop raids on storekeepers.

Post 1854 Experiences

During the procession to mark the second anniversary of the Eureka Stockade Lessman carried a garland of flowers.
