Mary Quinn was the sister of Margaret (Guthery) who was born 1826 at Ballyvaughan, County Clare, Ireland.

She married Martin Quinn. A family group was living in Fellmongers. Mary’s sister, Margaret, who had married Dennis Kinnane lived opposite the Quinn's on the Brewery Tap Road. Martin Quin’s sister, who had married Michael Nestor also lived in the vicinity.

Mary Quinn went to Balranald to live with her children after her husband died.She died there and is buried there also.
Obituary
Death has been removing some of our oldest identities the latest resident to fall under His influence being Mrs Mary Quinn, who has been ailing for some considerable time past, having been confined to her bed for the nine weeks immediately preceding the 6th instant, on which date she passed away, having completed her 93rd year. The deceased lady was born in County Clare Ireland and landed in Melbourne the year 1852, whence she journeyed to Ballarat where she resided with her husband and family till last year. Mrs Quinn's family were all reared in Ballarat, and the term of her residence in that city included the days of the Eureka Stockade, the Quinn's residence being not far away from the scene of the famous encounter. Mr P. Byrne of the Shamrock Hotel is married to a daughter of deceased while Mrs Fitzpatrick near Clare, is another daughter as well as Mrs Connellan, who resides in Melbourne. Mr Thomas Quinn, residing in town, is a son of the deceased lady, in addition to whom she has three other sons, two being in Melbourne and one in Ballarat. The funeral took place on Friday afternoon, the body being interred in the RC portion, Mr P. Phillips conducting the burial service. A large number of mourners followed the remains to the cemetery.
Her death certificate states that she died on 6 July 1905 at Balranald from senility, chronic nephritis, heart failure and general dropsy and she had been ill for around 5 months. It also states that she was born in Ballaywahon [sic] Clare, Ireland. She had been 22 years on Victoria and 35 years in NSW. Her father was Patrick Gutery [sic]. She had married in Ballywahon to Martin Quinn. Her children were listed as: Mary about 70 years, Kate 68, Thomas 56, Michael 54, Martin 52, James 50, Bridget 48 living, 2 females deceased. The informant was her son T. Quinn of Balranald.
