- ROCHESTER. - In connection with the jubilee of the Eureka Stockade, which is to-day being celebratod with much enthusiasm at Ballarat, I mentioned a few weeks ago that three of the actors in that affair of barricades were residents here; These were Messrs C. Sublet, R. Allan and G. Lowe. Since I wrote, the latter crossed the bar after a long and respected career, amongst us.[1]
- Mr. Chas. Sublet, a Eureka Stockader veteran, had an unpleasant experience on Saturday afternoon. While standing at the head of a horse attached to a buggy, the animal was startled by a passing motor and dashed Mr Sublet violently against the kerb. Assistance was at once rendered , and it was ascertained that no injury was sustained, with the exception of severe shock, which is in itself serious enough to a person of the advanced ago of tho sufferer.[2]
