Post 1854 Experiences

Our Buninyong correspondent writes:-Mrs Catherine Pattinson an old pioneer, died on Thursday at the age of 71 years. The deceased had lived in the district for over half a century, and at the time of the Eureka Riot lived in a tent with her brother. The deceased was a good nurse, and many kind offices were performed in that capacity by deceased when medical aid was not available. Mr J Bren, Mrs W Wyatt and Mrs Whitfield are the surviving children living in Buninyong. The funeral takes place today at the local cemetery. [1]
